Research in artificial intelligence always appeals to me in a strang way. Ideally, in order to build an AI system, one must first understand human intelligence. Unfortunately, human intelligence is nothing less than a mystery even to our best and brightest. In my short career as an AI researcher, I have never ceased to be amazed by the incredible resemblance between the two. In a way, AI is a mirror to ourselves, how we think, how we learn, how we perceive the world around us. It even reflects our flaws and limitations, our biases and prejudices. When we glance into the future of artificial intelligence, are we looking beyond, or are we looking within?
